LUNA-II

The LUNA-II is an automated cell counter that gives you the ultimate brightfield cell counting experience. Press count and the LUNA-II does the rest bringing your cells into the sharpest focus, adjusting light levels, capturing a high-resolution image, and analyzing the image to produce accurate cell count and viability data. You can create custom, cell-specific cell counting protocols or simply use the default counting protocol suitable for most cell lines or a PBMC protocol optimized for human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Live cells are tagged with green circles and dead cells are tagged with red circles, making it easy to verify the accuracy of each count. This little counter sits comfortably in a cell culture hood or on your benchtop to fit seamlessly into your workflow

As is well-known in brewing and wine making industries, the quantity of yeast pitched to initiate fermentation directly affects the flavor, aroma, and quality of the final product. Although yeast can be pitched by weight or volume, such methods are inexact and highly variable. The ASBC method using methylene blue method is more accurate but time consuming and subjective. Use the LUNA-II YF to get accurate and reproducible yeast cell counts in as little as 15 seconds. This little counter sits comfortably in a cell culture hood or on your benchtop to fit seamlessly into your workflow.

With four counting modes, the LUNA-FL is our powerhouse. Equipped with brightfield and dual fluorescence optics that allows the sensitive detection of most cell types excluding bacteria. The LUNA-FL can distinguish primary cells such as PBMCs, splenocytes, neutrophils, and stem cells from undesirable debris for accurate cell count and viability results. Brightfield cell counting, fluorescence cell counting, yeast cell counting, and GFP transfection assays are all in the LUNA-FL wheelhouse. This versatile little counter sits comfortably in a cell culture hood or on your benchtop to fit seamlessly into your workflow.

When using tissue-derived cells such as stem cells or the cells from the adipose stromal vascular fraction (SVF), knowing cell concentration and viability is crucial to ensure and control the quality of downstream procedures. Tissue-derived samples are often contaminated with red blood cells and noncellular debris, making cell counting a time-consuming, subjective, and error-prone process. The LUNA-STEM is equipped with dual fluorescence and brightfield optics to distinguish live and dead nucleated cells from non-nucleated cells. Samples are stained with nucleic acid dyes to determine the concentration and viability of mononucleated cells. Non-nucleated cells are distinguished from debris and also counted. In as little as 30 seconds, the LUNA-STEM reports total cell concentration, nucleated cell concentration, non-nucleated cell concentration, cell viability, and average cell size. A high-resolution image with live cells labeled with green circles and dead cells with red circles can be viewed to confirm data visually.
